What is food grain production target of India in 2021-22?

The overall foodgrains production target for the finamcial year 2021-22 is 307.31 million tonne whoch includes kharif and rabi season.

Rice production tatget for the year 2020-21 was 102.60 million tonne and rice production has been estimated to be 103.74 million tonne. The rice production target for the 2021-22 kharif season is set at a record 104.3 million tonne.

The production target for coarse cereals is 37.31 million tonne

The production target for oilseeds is 26.20 million tonne and pulses is 9.82 million tonne for the kharif season of 2021-22.

 

The Total foodgrains production target of 151.43 million tonne has been set for the kharif season of this year while in the last lharif season the target was 149.35 million tonne and production estimated is 147.95 million tonnes.

Other production targets include

Cotton – 37 million bale (of 170 kg each)

sugarcane – 387 million tonne

jute/mesta – 10.6 million bale (of 180 kg each)

Agri-inputs demands have been estimated as follows

Urea -177.53 lakh tonne

di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) – 65.18 lakh tonne

Muriate of Potash (MoP) – 20.24 lakh tonne

NPK fertilisers – 61.87 lakh tonne
